SECOND LIFE FORUMS HOW TO PUT IMAGE WINDOWS
I might also partition my drive and run windows to see if that makes a difference. I would think it could handle SL just fine. It’s called Black Magic and renders 4K video no problem. I’m not sure if it’s my computer as I bought an external graphic card for my Mac. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

I never have my desktop computer set higher than one step down from Ultra by the way Another option would be to connect directly rather than using wifi (not sure if that would help with your problems but definitely get the FPS higher). Some folks here have reported buying notebooks and then forgetting to switch to the higher powered card :D. When you get a new computer look for one that has a separate (additional most likely) video card and then be sure and turn that on. The best thing you can do most likely is turn down your draw distance. INTEGRATED video cards are often the issue. I have a notebook computer that won't and it is only a year old and fairly hefty. Sounds like your computer just can't deal with SL :D.

I have a 2017 MacBook Pro and I think it is powerful enough but I’m wondering if I’m missing something. Painfully slow. I wonder what I’m doing wrong. If I want to make any adjustments everything is so slow. I followed the tutorials and think I have a grasp on things but when my graphic setting are at max it is painful to to take a picture. I might as well ask here because I’ve been frustrated by the process. Once you get it, not too hard to get sharp images. What I mean is if you put a 64x1024 image on a cube then the cube should be sized so the width and height maintain the 64x1024 or 1:16 ratio. A display should also sort of be a power of 2 size. How you plan to display the image is also a consideration. It does NOT do a great job and again your image suffers a loss of quality. if you make non-power of two sizes then the system will resize them. Larger than 1024 gets downsized and again you lose quality. Uploading a JPG (a lossy format) and then the system converting to JPG2000 (another lossy format) causes a loss of quality, think fuzzier images.Īlso images going into the SL system must be in power of 2 sizes, 32x32, 64圆4, 128x etc. Images are stored in the SL system (as opposed to the web properties like the marketplace and this forum) in a JPG2000 format. In all cases the image should be initially saved as a PNG file (TGA sort of works too but there are a couple of gotchas avoided using PNG). Using the image in the viewer's profile and within SL gets a bit trickier. Using it here on the forum there is nothing special you need to do. It is also a matter of how you use the image in SL. SL good images are not just a matter of taking the picture. There are tutorials on YouTube about SL Photography. I haven't taken photos in a while, so that's all I remember at this time.

There are tons of poses you can find for free or 1 linden each on MP. You can look up on the internet (try Google Images) for how to position each ball as is done in RL photography by looking up key, fill and back lights for photography if you are interested.

If you know how to build, rez a ball, add a white texture, then turn the ball on full bright/glow (adjust glow to your liking) and somewhat transparent. You can wear each light and position them for great photographic effects. I made my own back, fill and key photo lights to light my avatar also. If you don't want to stay on ULTRA, turn graphics back to where you want it after taking the photo. You can also put your graphics setting up to ULTRA found under Preferences > Graphics.
